Summer Fun: Sour Grapes

Today is the first official day of summer vacation. School was out 2 weeks ago for me. Most of the kiddos are done, and the summer daycare brood has arrived. We started off the day with this idea I saw this on Pinterest a few weeks ago!

All you need is some grapes, picked and washed and a box of jell-o, any flavor.
We used blue raspberry and lime.
I washed the grapes, but the preschool teacher in me wanted to get important fine motor development in, so I allowed the kiddos to pick their own off the stem. Then we used kabob skewers and slide the grapes on. Even the 2 year olds could handle this. (Some needed more instruction than others, but it was neat to see what they can do!) We sprinkled some jello powder over the grapes making sure they were damp enough for the jello to stick. I stuck them in the freezer for a few hours, and we ate them for morning snack. They were yummy! The kids had fun and got some fine motor play in! :)
